A Detroit standard continues on Livernois Avenue.

Dittrich Furs Names Grantston Bullard Legacy Retailer

After 133 years and five generations, Dittrich Furs closed its Detroit doors on April 30, 2026. Its longstanding retail standard now continues through designer Grantston Bullard and CGB Design Studio on Detroit’s Avenue of Fashion.

The relationship between the two houses spans more than twenty-five years. Dittrich Furs carried Bullard’s designs, presented his work through trunk shows and editorial campaigns, and became one of the early retailers to support the CGB brand.

Today, Bullard continues that relationship from a different position: not only as a designer, but as a Detroit manufacturer and retailer creating made-to-measure and ready-to-wear luxury outerwear directly for the customer.

As Bullard puts it:

“We don’t buy and sell. We make and sell.”
